Do you like buying Windows licenses? You do? Great. You do you. For the rest of humanity, CrossOver is the easiest way to run many Microsoft applications on your Mac without a clunky Windows emulator. (Seriously, have you tried emulators? Do you like how they run on your Mac?) CrossOver works differently. It's not an emulator. It does the work of translating Windows commands into Mac commands so that you can run Windows software as if it were designed native to Mac.
So you're a ChromeOS user, you say? You've taken the grand escape from a sluggish PC, but you want to use your Chromebook for more than email, social media and general internet. You want to run full featured Windows software. Impossible they said! Hold our beer. Introducing CrossOver ChromeOS! Run Windows programs that are not available in the Google Play store alongside mobile apps. Scrap remote sessions with multiple users. Run utility software like Quicken and Microsoft Office, or DirectX games, like Wizard101. And bonus: Games from your Steam library will run with CrossOver ChromeOS at native speeds. Roger that!
Mac App For Windows Software
Macs have a thriving ecosystem of software, but some programs still only support Windows. Whether you want to use business software or play Windows PC games, there are many ways to run Windows programs on your Mac.
Some of these methods are similar to the ways you can install Windows software on Linux or run Windows programs on a Chromebook. Virtual machines, dual-booting, the Wine compatibility layer, and remote desktop solutions are all included here.
Have you ever found a piece of amazing software, only to realize it is Mac-only? With such a vast range of software available for Windows machines, it is a rarity. But, at times, there are just some apps that are better on macOS.
Once you sign into your account, you have the run of the App Store. As a result, you can install almost any macOS software you want on your virtual machine. Alternatively, you can use the default macOS apps.

Some of our older remotes, such as Harmony One, 880, 900, 1000, and 1100, use the Logitech Harmony Remote Software v7.x to add devices and get everything set up (see list). You can also use the software to make configuration changes in the future. Harmony One, 600, 650 and 700 remote users may upgrade to MyHarmony if they previously used remote software 7.x to set up their remote.
You will also receive a prompt about keystrokes. It is not necessary to grant access for this. Logitech Harmony Remote legacy software uses the JavaFX engine, one feature of the engine is to receive keystrokes, we do not use this feature.
This was done to eliminate issues related to browser plug-in issues and increasing browser security policies. All existing account information still exists and is accessible by downloading and signing in to the new software.

One of my most popular posts last year was a tour of my home office. That story focused on hardware (and a particularly distinctive piece of furniture), but it left out the other half of the equation: The software that actually does most of the work in my office.
Of course, this selection reflects my work habits and my personal preferences. Your needs are probably different, so your list will undoubtedly be different from mine. I encourage you to share your favorite software in the comments section below.
I suppose I could use a free PDF reader, but I spend enough time editing and annotating files saved in this format that the extra capabilities of the full-strength Adobe package (especially editing and annotation tools) are worth the $15 a month I pay. I understand the arguments of those who object to software subscriptions, but the perpetual license version is $449, which seems like something less than a bargain. If you don't need the full feature set, a Standard version costs a few dollars per month less.
When I set up a new PC, Mac, or mobile device, the first thing I install, without exception, is the 1Password browser extension. (For a full review, see: 1Password: My favorite password manager is an essential security tool.) It has every feature you expect from this class of software, including a robust password generator that can create and save truly random, unguessable credentials, as well as support for two-factor authentication. My family plan costs $5 a month and makes it easy to share credentials for online services with my wife.
Note: That software inventory "uninstall" button for windows agent installed apps only works if there is an uninstaller file for the application in "c:\windows\program files\". If this is not the case, create your own .msi or .exe that does the uninstall, upload that as a custom app to Dashboard and scope it for the specific windows device.
If the software install command is issued and the application does not appear on the client device, check the Dashboard-side logging to see if the app install command errored out. If you see a 'Success' entry, this means the command successfully went through, but may not have completely executed on the client device. At this point, you should reference the agent logs on the device itself, and provide these to Meraki Support for troubleshooting assistance.
